Artist Bio

My interest is in applying visual data to two articles I wrote:

"Working from the Inside Out; a Practical Approach to Expression"… Harvard Educational Review 1991

"Catching the Light: “Doing” Art and Education"... Leonardo. MIT Press 2009

 I hope to:

  • clarify how, by doing visual art starting with color rather than line, you can learn how to see,
  • find funding to digitize and archive visual data to be presented in a multi-media fashion,
  • gain the interest of neuro, visual and social scientists to investigate vision related to “working from the inside out” (INDOUT) as described in the articles.

“Working from the inside out” can be seen and understood through my own art work as well as student art work at the McCarthy-Towne Elementary School in Acton Massachusetts where I worked as a Humanities Consultant from 1972-2005.
